Introduction to Marine Electrical Systems (Part TWO): Batteries, Circuit Protection, Distribution Panels, and Wiring Design

Instructor: Ed Scott

In this course, you will learn terminology, theory, and practical knowledge regarding marine electrical systems, specifically batteries, circuit protection, distribution panels, and wiring design.

There is no hands-on component involved. If you have wired a boat, or assisted in wiring one, then this class will complement that experience. If you have not had any hands-on experience, that is fine too as this course's purpose is to teach you the theoretical knowledge involved in designing and specifying marine electrical systems.

No college credit is awarded, as this is a professional-development course designed to help further your knowledge of the electrical system—the most important systems (except maybe the cedar bucket) in a boat.

This is a five-lesson course, including readings, forums, quizzes, and a detailed wiring-design example. You will have access to course materials for 180 days.

We will be continuing the series with a third course on Installation and Troubleshooting later on.
